From requirement to benefit - get started with digital product passports!
GS1 invites companies to a digital seminar about digital product passport and how it can create competitive advantage for your business together with knowledge of how GS1 standards can help you meet the upcoming legal requirement. Other topics to discuss during the seminar are concrete tips to get started with DPP work in your organisation.
2027 the expected year to start implementing Digital Product Passport
Digital Product Passports (DPP) are expected to be implemented starting in 2027 and will affect virtually all companies selling physical products in the European market. In this webinar, you will get an overview of what DPP is and how it can be a competitive advantage for your company. You will gain insight into how GS1 standards such as GTIN, 2D codes and Digital Link can be enablers to facilitate traceability and the implementation of DPP. You will also get tools and tips to get started with internal preparations for 2027.
DPP part of EU legislative framework
Digital product passports are part of an EU legislative framework - the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), adopted by the EU in June 2024. Digital product passports will collect information on the sustainability and life cycle of a product, facilitating circularity and recycling. They will enable the sharing of data such as the origin and sustainability performance of products with businesses, consumers and authorities.
Participation in the seminar by our team
Fredrik Malm and Lennart Strandberg will participate in the seminar as experts in the field. Both are members of the work group “Unique identifiers and data carriers” which is part of JTC24 (Joint Technical Committee) called “Digital Product Passport – Framework and System”. This work group i lead by the Swedish Institute of Standards.
