The EU Digital Product Passport is coming, and it will affect companies across industries worldwide. Many companies have decided to see this as a great opportunity. If you represent a branded goods company - what is your company doing to prepare? Enabling future compliance with the EU DPP mandate is a journey that starts today, and our community is committed to being a guide and a helping hand together with other companies to share experiences and help each other.
Putting DPPs into practice requires a technical solution to capture all the data about the products manufactured and distributed. Digital traceability technology is the key to implementing DPPs on an enterprise scale. All physical components and materials can be assigned unique digital identities (UIDs). Throughout the supply chain journey, data is collected and associated with that UID every time something happens to it throughout its lifecycle.
Full traceability for a granular understanding of the value chain will not only be a desire, but a must. In this way, companies can begin (and in many cases have already begun) to prepare for what is to come, while reaping a return on their investment along the way.
